UPGRADES
The core experience is free to play, but optional upgrades let you tailor your campaign—choose your starting faction and the size of your territory. Unleash your creativity in fantasy battles that pit any two cultures against each other, with as many warriors as your device can support! You also have the power to edit every character in the world, though please note the game actively uses up to 1,000 characters that are periodically refreshed.
CONTROLS
When guiding an individual character, choose between the intuitive "Classic" one-handed scheme or the precise "Dual Wield" system that controls each hand independently. If these controls are new to you, simply pause the action by tapping the timeline, then review the detailed "Controls" guide. Also, watch for in-game hints tucked inside scrolls and books you can discover and read.
You can switch which team member you're controlling at any time—either tap their health bar or touch them directly on the battlefield. Tapping the arrows at the screen's bottom activates "Commander" mode, letting you step back and direct any ally with a simple swipe from their position to a target. Whether you order a move, an attack, or to grab an object, they'll interpret your command. Be aware, however, that they'll act according to their own judgment and immediate priorities!
No matter your device or control preference, you can always zoom the view in or out with a pinch gesture at the center of the screen.
MAP
In the primary "Campaign" mode, you expand your territory by moving units from one area to any adjacent one. You can choose to "fortify" a region you hold or launch an assault to capture a rival's land. Remember, only half the units stationed in a territory are available to move—making offense a greater challenge than defense.
The population in any occupied territory can grow after each turn, so securing more land is key to your dominance. Also note that units slowly recover health over time, so rotating your focus between different fronts each turn is a smart strategy.
PERFORMANCE
Please be advised: this is the most ambitious and large-scale game I've developed, and it may demand a high-end device to run at full capacity. To improve performance, try reducing the "Population" setting to limit on-screen characters, or adjust other options in the "Display" menu.
