A New Evil Ending for Baldur's Gate 3
Larian Studios recently unveiled a 52-second cinematic teaser on X (formerly Twitter), showcasing a new evil ending for Patch 7. The focus is on the Dark Urge, depicting the horrifying results of embracing their darker nature.
WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD!
The preview depicts the Dark Urge's companions witnessing their leader succumb to Bhaal's influence, seizing control of the Netherbrain. Their tragic fates serve as a prelude to Bhaal's reign of terror. The Dark Urge uses mind control to force their companions to their deaths, a chilling scene narrated with the ominous line, "Time for the final act. Your tragedy has become mankind's." The Dark Urge ultimately suffers a similar fate.
This is only one of several new evil endings promised in Patch 7. Larian's April community update highlighted their commitment to adding "improved evil endings...for even darker conclusions." Excitingly, these endings aren't exclusive to Dark Urge playthroughs. Previously teased endings included the Dark Urge amidst a sea of blood and corpses, and a town consumed by "sheer mindless bliss" under the True Absolute.
Patch 7: More Than Just Evil Endings
Patch 7 is a massive update, including the new endings, a dynamic split-screen mode for co-op play, enhanced Honour Mode challenges, and a highly anticipated modding toolkit.
Larian Studios has confirmed that this isn't the end for Baldur's Gate 3. Future updates will include crossplay and photo mode, demonstrating their commitment to ongoing improvements based on player feedback.
Currently in closed beta, Patch 7 is slated for release this September. While the exact date remains undisclosed, players can register on the Steam store page for early access.
