Lies of P: DLC and Sequel Announced – A Director's Update
Director Ji-Won Choi of Lies of P recently treated fans to an anniversary message, revealing exciting news about upcoming DLC and a sequel for the steampunk Soulslike game. The message serves as a heartfelt thank you to the community, highlighting the team's dedication and the inspiration drawn from fan support. Choi described the team's intense work on the DLC amidst Korea's summer heat, emphasizing the fans' crucial role in motivating their progress.
The DLC promises to expand on the base game's strengths while addressing previously reported issues. Choi stated the goal is to "do better on what we did well and improve in areas we have room to grow," highlighting the importance of focusing on the fundamentals. He also expressed gratitude to his team, Team NOUGH and ROUND8 Studio.
A major reveal accompanied the message: concept art and a music track from the upcoming DLC. The art depicts P in a snowy location, gazing at a lighthouse, hinting at a new, potentially perilous, storyline. The included music, titled "Lisrim" (composed by onoken in 2022), is described as a new track and features in a music video echoing the game's aesthetic. NEOWIZ owns the rights to both the song and the game, eliminating any copyright concerns.
DLC Release Date and Future Plans:
While a specific release date remains unannounced, NEOWIZ's Q1 2024 Earnings Results indicate a launch sometime in the second half of 2024. The DLC will be released alongside four other NEOWIZ titles: The Legend of Heroes: Gagharv Trilogy, Cats & Soup: Malang Town, Cats & Soup: Magic Recipe, and Project IG.
Previous teasers from November 2023 showcased concept art depicting an industrial facility and a shipwreck, further hinting at the DLC's diverse environments.
Choi concluded by assuring fans that their anticipation will be rewarded, urging patience while promising that this DLC is merely the beginning; a full sequel is also in development.
