Monster Hunter Wilds is set to receive its first Title Update tomorrow, introducing quests that encourage competition for the fastest clear times. In anticipation of this, Capcom has issued a stern warning against cheating and the use of external tools to manipulate rankings. In a recent post on the Monster Hunter X/Twitter account, Capcom emphasized their commitment to maintaining a fun and fair gaming environment by stating: "To ensure a fun and fair experience for our players, we will take action against accounts participating in fraudulent ranking activity, such as the use of cheating or external tools. Accounts deemed to be in breach of this may be suspended, or have restrictions placed on them, such as being unable to receive rewards from these quests."
Capcom also cautioned that players who join multiplayer hunts with cheaters risk having their quest completion times invalidated and their rewards revoked. They advised, "Please take caution to avoid playing multiplayer with those who are engaging in prohibited activity, or those you suspect of such." The company encourages players to report any instances of cheating they encounter during quests.
The new quests will offer cosmetic pendants as rewards, some of which will be distributed to all participants, while others will be awarded based on Completion Time or the hunter's ranking. This makes Capcom's crackdown on cheating understandable, as it aims to preserve the integrity of the rewards and competition.
The Time-Based Competition Quests will be available with Title Update 1 and can be accessed through the new Arena Quest Counter in the Grand Hub in Suja. To participate, players must first complete a special tutorial mission to unlock the Grand Hub. Make sure to head there as soon as Title Update 1 goes live tomorrow in Monster Hunter Wilds.
