Firaxis Games Unveils Post-Launch Roadmap for Civilization VII

Firaxis Games today showcased the post-launch roadmap for Sid Meier’s Civilization VII during a dedicated livestream. The roadmap outlines substantial updates planned for 2025, including several DLC packs and free content updates.

Paid DLC will arrive in two parts, collectively titled the Crossroads of the World Collection. Part one (early March) features Leader Ada Lovelace, four Natural Wonders, and the Carthage and Great Britain civilizations. Part two (late March) includes Leader Simon Bolivar and the Bulgaria and Nepal civilizations. Complementing these paid releases, free content drops are scheduled for both early and late March, encompassing new Natural Wonder events (Battle and Marvelous Mountains) and Natural Wonders (Bermuda Triangle and Mount Everest).

Further paid content, the Right Rule Collection, is slated for release this summer, adding two new leaders, four civilizations, and four New World Wonders. Additional free content and updates are planned between April and September. Firaxis promises continued support from October 2025 onward. Specific release dates remain unannounced.

Beyond the DLC, a developer diary highlighted upcoming additions such as multiplayer team support, expanded lobby sizes, increased map variety, and modding tools. These features are planned for release as soon as possible, following initial bug fixes, balance adjustments, and quality-of-life improvements.

The livestream also provided an in-depth look at multiplayer gameplay, showcasing diverse victory strategies. A Q&A session addressed community questions.

Sid Meier’s Civilization VII launches on February 11th for PC (Steam), Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. Early access begins February 6th with the Deluxe Edition.
