Cyberpunk 2077 Developers Keep the Momentum Going
Patch 2.3 Arrives June 26
CD Projekt Red (CDPR), the team behind Cyberpunk 2077, has announced a new update for the game, set to release soon. During the June 5 REDstreams broadcast, the studio unveiled details about the upcoming Patch 2.3, scheduled for June 26.
As part of the celebration for Cyberpunk 2077’s launch on the Switch 2, CDPR confirmed that Patch 2.3 will arrive on June 26, with further details to be revealed in an upcoming livestream.
On June 5, CDPR Global Community Director Marcin Momot shared the news on Twitter (X), urging fans to stay tuned for more details about the update. Associate Game Director Pawel Sasko retweeted the post on June 6, hinting that the team has been quietly working on this update for some time and will share more when ready.
Will This Be the Final Update?
CDPR has labeled several updates as the “final” one for Cyberpunk 2077, but this latest patch may indeed mark the end as the studio shifts focus to Cyberpunk 2. During the recent REDstreams, the developers humorously acknowledged that their “last” update wasn’t quite the end.
The studio previously called Patch 2.1 the “last major update” in December 2023, aligning with the Ultimate Edition release. However, in December 2024, Patch 2.2, developed with Virtuos, introduced new customization features. Fans assumed this was the final patch, given the game’s debut in December 2020.
CDPR’s pattern of extending support is also evident in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The studio claimed the December 2022 Patch 4.0 next-gen update was its last, but Patch 4.04 arrived in July 2023.
More recently, on May 30, CDPR announced via Twitter (X) that The Witcher 3 will receive its definitive final update later this year to mark its 10th anniversary. This patch will include cross-platform mod support, fostering a shared modding ecosystem.
With Cyberpunk 2 in pre-production and The Witcher 4’s tech demo unveiled, CDPR’s final updates for their earlier titles are likely their last. Meanwhile, Cyberpunk 2077 fans can enjoy the game on Nintendo’s latest handheld console.
