Hideo Kojima took to the stage at SXSW 2025 in Austin, TX, this evening to unveil an epic new trailer for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, and to announce the game's release date.

Death Stranding 2 is set to launch on June 26, 2025, exclusively on PlayStation 5. However, fans who opt for the Digital Deluxe Edition or the Collector’s Edition will enjoy two days of early access starting from June 24.

The captivating 10-minute trailer features a mix of stunning cinematics, engaging gameplay clips, and a particularly intriguing character, Neil, played by Italian actor Luca Marinelli. Many fans have noted Neil's striking resemblance to Snake from Kojima's renowned Metal Gear series. In the trailer, Neil is seen donning a bandana and leading a team of eerie soldiers, further fueling the comparisons.

The trailer also introduces the Magellan Man, a colossal tar-like creature integrated with the DHV Magellan, reminiscent of Metal Gear Rex from Kojima's past works. The Magellan Man, operated in a style akin to the mechs from Pacific Rim, battles against monstrous tar creatures. A 15" statue of the Magellan Man comes with the Collector's Edition.

The Magellan Man rekindles memories of Metal Gear Rex.

Pricing details for Death Stranding 2 have been confirmed, with the standard edition at $69.99, the Collector's Edition at $229.99, and the Digital Deluxe Edition at $79.99. Pre-orders will commence on March 17.
