Nintendo is set to delight fans with the opening of its new San Francisco store today, May 15, located at 331 Powell Street in Union Square. This marks the second official Nintendo store in the United States, following the success of the revamped Nintendo NY in New York, which underwent renovations and rebranding from its former name, Nintendo World Store, before reopening in 2016.

IGN had the opportunity to visit the new San Francisco location to explore what Nintendo has in store for its fans. Additionally, we sat down with Doug Bowser, the President of Nintendo of America, to discuss the strategic decision behind opening their first West Coast store at this time.
