Hunting for resources in *Monster Hunter Wilds* can be a rewarding but sometimes challenging endeavor. Sharp Fangs, a crucial crafting material, are among the trickier items to acquire. This guide will show you how to efficiently locate and farm these valuable fangs.

Early in your *Monster Hunter Wilds* journey, you'll find Sharp Fangs in the Windward Plains. These fangs are essential for crafting early-game gear like the Chatacabra and Talioth armor sets. To begin your hunt, consider undertaking optional quests like "Beware the Chatacabra" or "The Desert is Demanding." These quests provide access to the Windward Plains with a generous 50-minute time limit. Remember to prepare by consuming a meal before heading out to maximize your hunting efficiency.

Once in the Windward Plains, head to Area 8—the largest area, teeming with smaller monsters. While several creatures can drop Sharp Fangs, one stands out as the most reliable source.

Gaijos: Your Primary Target

Gaijos, small leviathan-like creatures resembling crocodiles, are typically found near or in riverbeds, usually solitary. Their locations are easily identified on the interactive map by scanning for purple diamonds near water sources. These creatures are relatively weak, making them easy targets even with early-game weapons. Defeating a Gaijo guarantees a single Sharp Fang upon carving its carcass.

The Windward Plains usually spawns four to five Gaijos. You can repeatedly farm them by re-entering the area via any of the Windward Plains optional quests—a quick and efficient farming method.

Talioth: An Alternative Source

Talioth, bipedal creatures found in packs in Area 8 (and sometimes Area 13), offer a secondary, albeit less reliable, source of Sharp Fangs. While they are slightly more challenging than Gaijos, they still pose little threat even with starter weapons. While not guaranteed, there's a chance for Sharp Fangs to drop from their carcasses. Hunting Talioths also conveniently progresses the "The Desert is Demanding" optional quest, requiring you to slay eight of them.
