Feral Interactive Releases Imperium Update for ROME: Total War

Fans of the classic strategy game *ROME: Total War* on Android are in for a treat with the newly released Imperium Update by Feral Interactive. This massive free update brings a host of gameplay tweaks, enhanced controls, and quality-of-life improvements that significantly enhance the gaming experience. If you've been enjoying this timeless title since its Android debut in 2018, you'll be thrilled to see these updates. The same enhancements are set to roll out next week for the standalone expansions, Barbarian Invasion and Alexander, ensuring that all players can enjoy the improved gameplay.

What Does the Imperium Update Bring to ROME: Total War?

The Imperium Update incorporates some of the most beloved features from Feral's more recent mobile releases, including *Total War: MEDIEVAL II* and *EMPIRE*. Players can now benefit from three new control options: Positioning Mode, Melee Mode, and Automatic Deselection. These additions provide greater command over units, making battles more strategic and precise. The ability to simply tap and hold to move armies, agents, or fleets eliminates the need for manual path dragging, streamlining gameplay.

Positioning Mode allows for fine-tuning unit placements with a tap and hold mechanism, while the Group Grid feature simplifies the management of unit groups with a collapsible selection menu. Melee Mode offers the flexibility to switch ranged units to close combat as needed, adding a new layer of tactical depth to your battles.

A standout feature of the update is the Command Slowdown, which automatically slows the game when you're issuing complex orders, giving you more time to strategize. Additionally, for the first time, keyboard and mouse support has been introduced for Android and iPad users, enhancing the control options available.

The minimap has been revamped to resemble the one in *MEDIEVAL II*, with smoother zooming and navigation capabilities. A new reset button allows for quick returns to the default view, making it easier to keep track of the battlefield.

The Imperium Update is now available for download on the Google Play Store for all *ROME: Total War* Android users. Be sure to install it to experience these exciting enhancements. Keep an eye out for the updates coming to Barbarian Invasion and Alexander next week, as they will also benefit from these improvements.
