Since its inception in 1998, Rockstar has crafted over 30 games, including iconic franchises like Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption, and Manhunt. But which of these gems shines the brightest? For clarity, we're focusing solely on games developed by Rockstar, excluding titles like LA Noire or Max Payne 2, which they've published but not developed. I've ranked them using an IGN Tier List, based on my personal enjoyment over the years. Check out my tier list here:
Red Dead Redemption 2 stands out as my all-time favorite, earning an easy S-tier spot. It's joined by its predecessor and GTA 5—both trailblazers in the cinematic open-world genre. I also have a soft spot for Max Payne 3 with its thrilling bullet time mechanics, and GTA San Andreas, which I played at an impressively young age. On the flip side, D-tier includes titles like Austin Powers: Oh, Behave! and Welcome to My Underground Lair!—games that are better left untouched.
