Rockstar Games has announced that the GTA 6 Trailer 2 has become the biggest video launch of all time, amassing a staggering 475 million views across all platforms on its first day. This figure surpasses all previous movie trailer launches, including the impressive 365 million views of Deadpool & Wolverine in its first 24 hours, and the 200 million views garnered by The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Even last year's Superman trailer, which achieved over 250 million views and set a record for both DC and Warner Bros., was outshined by GTA 6 Trailer 2.
It's interesting to note that the first trailer for GTA 6 saw 93 million views on its debut day, released exclusively on YouTube, and became the biggest non-music video launch on the platform. As of the publication of this article on May 8, GTA 6 Trailer 2 has already reached 85,276,196 views on Rockstar's official YouTube channel.
Following the release of GTA 6 Trailer 2, The Pointer Sisters' song Hot Together experienced a monumental surge in Spotify streams. In the two hours after the trailer's premiere, global streams of the 1986 hit increased by an astonishing 182,000%. Sulinna Ong, Spotify’s Global Head of Editorial, remarked, "Grand Theft Auto cuts through popular culture like almost nothing else. Music has been synonymous with the series since the very beginning, so it’s great to see fans both new and established connecting with an iconic track in this way."
The release of GTA 6 Trailer 2 comes after the game's delay from fall 2025 to May 26, 2026. With expectations high, GTA 6 is poised to be the biggest entertainment launch ever, potentially setting new revenue records across both video games and movies.
