How to Start The Lion’s Crest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

Once you've navigated through the tutorial section of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 and entered the open world, your next step is to locate the scribe Gaibl in Troskowitz. Engaging in conversation with him will kick off The Lion’s Crest quest. Gaibl will challenge you with a riddle and provide you with the smithing recipe for Brunswick’s polearm. You'll need to gather the materials on your own, but you can craft the weapon at any blacksmith’s forge.

The Lion’s Crest Riddle Solution

The riddle you'll need to solve is as follows:

“Take your leave of crone and maiden, standing tall behind the gates, boldly go towards true midnight, in caverns cold your prize awaits. Pass through the hall of forest kings, hidden deep from hunters’ gaze, standing tall two guards of stone, behind who yearned for treasure lays. Between then stands a mighty rock, a subtle niche yet deeper still, a place to give one’s heart to God, behold my armour gleaming still.”

To decipher this, head to Trosky Castle where you'll find the Crone Tower and Maiden Tower. Exit the castle through the northern gates and continue northwards into the forest.

Keep your eyes peeled on the left side of the road for rocky formations with accessible crevices. Navigate through these and you'll stumble upon a cave containing a chapel. Inspect the cross on the rock beside the chapel to claim the first piece of Brunswick’s Armour, accompanied by two treasure maps to guide you further in your quest.

Map 1

Follow the road that led you to the chapel westward until you reach a crossroads. From there, venture north into the woods to locate a wolf den. Search the trees just above the den to discover a bag containing the second piece of Brunswick’s armour.

Map 2

The second map directs you to Vidlak Pond's small outpost. Follow the path behind the fisherman’s house and keep an eye out for a large rock formation along the cliffs. Ascend the rocks to find a chest next to a cross.

Map 3

For the third map, fast travel to Zhelejov and head towards the tavern before leaving the settlement. After crossing two bridges towards Tachov, take a small path right after the second bridge that leads to the river and forest. Follow this path to a hill and inspect the large tree at the top to find some bones and a bag with the armour.

Map 4

The final map takes you to a hill between the Nomads’ Camp and Bozhena’s Hut. On this hill, look for rocks topped with a cross to claim the last piece of Brunswick’s armour.
