Helldivers 2 Expansions
Helldivers 2 receives regular updates with balance tweaks and new content, including advanced weapons and equipment. The Servants of Freedom Warbond, launched in February 2025, introduced a variety of new weapons, armor, cosmetics, and more. The Escalation of Freedom update in August 2024 raised the stakes with a tougher difficulty mode, additional missions and objectives, refined gameplay, and new enemy types.
Helldivers 2: Omens of Tyranny
Unveiled at The Game Awards 2024, the Omens of Tyranny update reintroduced the Illuminate faction, absent since the original Helldivers nearly a century ago. These foes use mind control to transform citizens into The Voteless, pitting them against Super Earth’s values. The update shifts battles to urban settings within Super Earth’s colonies, now under attack by the Illuminate.
To tackle these threats, the update includes the Fast Recon Vehicle (FRV), a squad-based transport stratagem. It allows teams to move together across the battlefield, with passengers able to engage enemies while in transit.
Helldivers 2 Warbonds
Launched on March 20, 2025, the Borderline Justice Warbond adds a permanent progression system to Helldivers 2. Unlike time-limited battle passes, Warbonds let players unlock rewards at their own pace using medals earned in-game. The Warbond is available for purchase with in-game currency.
Borderline Justice delivers a Wild West-themed arsenal, featuring the R-6 Deadeye lever-action marksman rifle, LAS-58 Talon energy revolver, and TED-63 Dynamite throwable. It also introduces the LIFT-860 Hover Pack, a stratagem enabling brief hovering bursts for enhanced mobility.
Beyond weapons, Borderline Justice includes two armor sets: the GS-17 Frontier Marshal medium armor and the GS-66 Lawmaker heavy armor, both with the Gunslinger passive, boosting reload speed, reducing recoil, and enhancing weapon handling. Players can unlock new capes, banners, and emotes, such as the "Tip Hat" emote. The Warbond costs 1,000 Super Credits, earned through gameplay or in-game purchases, with rewards unlocked via mission medals.
