Dragon Quest X Offline, a single-player version of the popular MMORPG, is launching tomorrow on iOS and Android in Japan. Japanese players can purchase the game for a discounted price, enjoying offline functionality.
This mobile release marks a significant step for the title, previously only available on consoles and PC. The offline version, released in 2022, offers a unique experience, deviating from the series' typical gameplay with real-time combat and other MMORPG elements. Interestingly, plans to bring Dragon Quest X to mobile were initially announced back in 2013 by Ubitu.
While exciting for Japanese fans, a global release remains unconfirmed. The original Dragon Quest X was a Japan-exclusive title, and there's currently no official word on international availability for the offline mobile version. This is disappointing for many international fans eager to experience this unique entry in the Dragon Quest franchise on their mobile devices. The opportunity to play even an adapted version on mobile would be welcomed by many.
