Marvel Reportedly Pauses Work on Nova, Strange Academy, and Terror, Inc. TV Shows

Marvel Television has reportedly put a temporary halt on the development of three intriguing projects: Nova, Strange Academy, and Terror, Inc. According to sources cited by Deadline, these shows were never officially greenlit and could potentially still see the light of day. However, Marvel has seemingly shifted its focus elsewhere.

This strategic pivot comes as Marvel Studios gears up for the much-anticipated launch of the Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again. In a recent revelation, Brad Winderbaum, Marvel Studios' head of streaming and TV, hinted at the possibility of bringing together the street-level heroes from Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist, collectively known as The Defenders.

As Winderbaum explained to Screen Rant last year, "We’re really being careful about what we choose to do next."

The news regarding Nova comes as a surprise, especially since just two months ago, it was announced that Ed Bernero, formerly of Criminal Minds, had joined as a writer and showrunner, with Nova confirmed as a series for Disney+. Strange Academy was poised to introduce viewers to a magical school founded by Doctor Strange, with Wong overseeing operations. Details about Terror, Inc. remain scarce.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding these projects, fans can look forward to confirmed releases from Marvel TV shows. Daredevil: Born Again will premiere on Disney+ on March 4, followed by Ironheart on June 24, and Wonder Man slated for a December release. On the movie front, three MCU films are set to hit theaters this year post the release of Captain America: Brave New World: Thunderbolts in May and The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
