Capcom recently held a Spotlight and Monster Hunter Wilds Showcase, revealing significant updates for several titles. Key announcements include new details for Onimusha: Way of the Sword, a remaster of Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny, a release date for Capcom Fighting Collection 2, and extensive information on Monster Hunter Wilds.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword – A 2026 Release

PlaySet in the Edo period, this new Onimusha entry features a new protagonist wielding an Oni Gauntlet to combat Genma. Development prioritizes compelling characters, engaging enemies, and a historically accurate recreation of Kyoto. The game aims for challenging yet accessible sword combat.

Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny Remaster Coming in 2025

PlayA remastered version of the 2002 classic is slated for release in 2025, bridging the gap until Onimusha: Way of the Sword's arrival.

Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta 2 Details

PlayThe second Open Beta introduces the flagship monster, Arkveld, in a challenging new quest. Other additions include a Gypceros Hunt, a training area, Private Lobbies, and Online Single Player mode. Data from the first beta will transfer, and the Character Creator, Story Trial, and Doshaguma hunt return. Cross-play will be featured.

Beta Dates:

  • February 6th, 7 PM PT – February 9th, 6:59 PM PT
  • February 13th, 7 PM PT – February 16th, 6:59 PM PT

Participants will receive a special Pendant. Character data transfers to the full game (February 28th release), but progress does not.

Monster Hunter Wilds – Iceshard Cliffs and New Monsters

The new story trailer showcases the Iceshard Cliffs region, introducing new monsters: Rove (Wudwud), Hirabami – Leviathan, Nerscylla – Temnoceran, and Gore Magala.

Capcom Fighting Collection 2 Release Date

PlayLaunching May 16th, 2025, this collection includes Capcom vs. SNK Millennium Fight 2000 Pro, Capcom vs. SNK 2: Mark of the Millennium 2001, Capcom Fighting Evolution, Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper, Power Stone, Power Stone 2, Project Justice, and Plasma Sword: Night of Bilstein.
