Mark your calendars! Square Enix is hosting a livestream on their YouTube channel to commemorate the NieR series' 15th anniversary. This special broadcast will feature key figures behind the series' success, including creator and Creative Director Yoko Taro, Producer Yosuke Saito, Composer Keiichi Okabe, Senior Game Designer Takahisa Taura, and voice actor Hiroki Yasumoto (Grimoire Weiss and Pod 042). Expect a mini-live performance and other anniversary announcements.

Interestingly, the livestream's promotional image features art from the now-closed NieR Reincarnation mobile game. This sparks speculation about potential future projects related to the mobile title, or it could simply be a nod to the game as part of the series' history.

The livestream begins April 19, 2025, at 2 AM PT on Square Enix's YouTube channel. With an estimated runtime of two and a half hours, anticipation is high for major announcements.

Producer Yosuke Saito has hinted at the possibility of a new NieR game in the works. A December 2024 interview with 4Gamer saw Saito mention the upcoming anniversary and express his desire to celebrate with either a new game or significant series developments.

The last mainline entry in the series was NieR: Automata in 2017, followed by the NieR Replicant remaster-remake. While there's been no official confirmation from Square Enix, the 15th anniversary livestream fuels fan hopes for a new installment.
