The 97th Academy Awards nominations are in, and Emilia Pérez is the frontrunner with a record-breaking 13 nominations—the most ever for a non-English language film. Rachel Sennott and Bowen Yang announced the nominees on January 23rd during a live stream on the Oscars YouTube channel.

Jacques Audiard's Spanish crime thriller, Emilia Pérez, received multiple nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director (Audiard himself), and Best Lead Actress (Karla Sofía Gascón). Wicked and The Brutalist closely followed with 10 nominations each, while Conclave and A Complete Unknown garnered eight.
