Larian Studios announced a January launch for the Baldur's Gate 3 Patch 8 stress test, accessible via Steam (PC), Xbox, and PlayStation consoles. Mac and GOG users will be excluded. Registration is open now.
Larian plans extensive testing to identify and address any instability or gameplay issues before the official release. Crossplay functionality is a key focus of this stress test. The developer highlighted the complexity of implementing crossplay in a game of Baldur's Gate 3's scale and encourages player participation. Players are invited to recruit friends or find groups via the Larian Studios Discord server.
While Patch 8 marks the final major update, Larian reaffirmed its commitment to ongoing support for modders, promising significant future updates and enhanced modding tools to empower player storytelling. Since September's release of official mod tools, the community has already downloaded over 70 million modules and uploaded over 3,000 mods.
