People Can Fly Joins Sony for New Project Delta

by Zachary Apr 03,2025

People Can Fly, known for developing Bulletstorm and co-developing Gears of War: E-Day, has entered into an agreement with Sony Interactive Entertainment to work on a new game, codenamed Project Delta. This project is designated as a work-for-hire, but specifics about the game remain undisclosed.

Currently, People Can Fly is juggling multiple projects, each with its own codename. Alongside Project Delta, they are developing Project Gemini in collaboration with Square Enix, which faced a reduction of 30 developers last year. Other projects include Project Echo with Krafton, Project Red, which also appears to be linked with Sony, and the recently announced final VR project, Project Bison.

Recent months have seen significant shifts in their project lineup. In December, the studio decided to suspend work on Project Victoria and scale down Project Bifrost. Earlier in April, they cancelled Project Dagger, an action-adventure game that was being developed in partnership with Take-Two Interactive.

Despite these adjustments, People Can Fly remains busy with eight known ongoing projects, including the highly anticipated Gears of War: E-Day, developed in partnership with The Coalition. While a release date for Gears of War: E-Day has not been announced, Project Gemini with Square Enix is slated for a 2026 release.
