The State of Play February 2025 event brought an exhilarating showcase of upcoming games for the PlayStation 5, leaving fans buzzing with anticipation. From the thrilling reveal of Housemarque's next title, Saros, to the much-awaited release dates for blockbuster titles like Borderlands 4 and Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, the event was packed with exciting announcements.

One of the highlights was the unveiling of Saros, Housemarque's follow-up to Returnal. Set to launch on PS5 in 2026, Saros takes players to the planet of Carcosa, threatened by an ominous eclipse. Players will step into the shoes of Arjun Devraj, a Soltari Enforcer, navigating a world that evolves with each death, featuring permanent progression systems and new upgrades.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater finally locked in an official release date of August 28, 2025, accompanied by a fresh gameplay trailer. Konami teased fans with an Ape Escape collaboration and hinted at more crossovers to come.

Gearbox announced that Borderlands 4 will hit the shelves on September 23, 2025. A new gameplay trailer was showcased, and fans can look forward to a Borderlands 4-themed State of Play later this spring.

Capcom offered a glimpse into Onimusha: Way of the Sword with a new gameplay trailer featuring the protagonist Miyamoto Musashi. Although the game is slated for a 2026 release, this early look is sure to keep fans eagerly waiting.

The event also introduced Tides of Annihilation, a narrative-driven action-adventure game set in a modern London overtaken by otherworldly forces. Players will assume the role of Gwendolyn, summoning the Knights of the Round Table to battle skyscraper-sized bosses.

Days Gone Remastered is making a comeback on April 25, 2025, with enhanced features like VRR, PS5 Pro support, permadeath, speedrun modes, and a new Horde Assault mode. Owners of the PS4 version can upgrade for just $10.

Sony also revealed February 2025's PlayStation Plus Game Catalog additions, including Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, TopSpin 2K25, and Lost Records: Bloom & Rage - Tape 1, along with future indie games like Blue Prince and Abiotic Factor.

Leslie Benzies' MindsEye, a game set in the futuristic city of Redrock, unveiled a gameplay trailer and a Summer 2025 release window. Players will follow the story of Jacob Diaz, a former soldier haunted by fragmented memories.

Warriors: Abyss, a new roguelite spin-off from the Dynasty Warriors series, surprised fans with a same-day release on both PS5 and PS4. With over 100 unique characters and 16 billion combinations of gameplay, it promises an exhilarating experience.

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds showcased new gameplay, highlighting the innovative use of portals to transport racers across different worlds. The game is set to launch on multiple platforms including PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

Stellar Blade announced a crossover with Goddess of Victory: Nikke, featuring new content set to release in June 2025. Lies of P: Overture, a prequel DLC expansion, will delve into the hidden stories of Krat and is expected this summer.

WWE 2K25 unveiled The Island, a social multiplayer wrestling hub where players can explore and engage in various challenges and storylines. Shinobi: Art of Vengeance, a new entry in the classic franchise, is set to launch on August 29, 2025, with a focus on unlocking abilities for exploration and replayability.

Metal Eden, described as an adrenaline rush sci-fi FPS, will hit PS5 on May 6, 2025, with a unique Core Ripping mechanic. Lost Soul Aside, originally a one-person project, received a new trailer and a release date of May 30, 2025, on PS5 and PC.

Monster Hunter Wilds announced a free title update for spring, featuring Mizutsune and new Event Quests. Split Fiction got a new story trailer ahead of its March 6, 2025, release date.

Supermassive Games' Directive 8020 promises a blend of sci-fi and horror on October 2, 2025, with choices that lead to dramatic outcomes. The next PixelJunk series, Dreams of Another, will launch on PS5 and PS VR2 in 2025, featuring an ethereal dreamscape.

Darwin's Paradox aims to immerse players in the life of an octopus, set in a food factory. The Midnight Walk, a stop-motion first-person action-adventure game, is set to release on May 8, 2025, for PS5 and PS VR2.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon's Kasuga Ichiban will appear in Dave the Diver's Ichiban's Holiday DLC in April, bringing familiar faces and mini-games. Hell Is Us, a post-apocalyptic sci-fi game, is slated for a September 4, 2025, release.

Digimon Story Time Stranger, a new JRPG, will allow players to switch between the human and Digital Worlds in 2025 on PS5. Finally, Five Nights at Freddy's: Secret of the Mimic is set to return fans to the horror franchise after nearly two years.
