Pokémon Go is bringing back the Bug Out event with Sizzlipede’s debut this time

by Peyton Apr 02,2025

The Bug Out event is making a grand return to Pokémon Go, and it's set to be an exciting adventure for all trainers. Kicking off on March 26th and running through March 30th, this event promises a thrilling lineup of Bug-type Pokémon, including the debut of Sizzlipede and its evolution, Centiskorch. Get ready for wild encounters, raids, bonuses, and fresh challenges that will keep you engaged throughout the event.

During the Bug Out event, Lure Modules will be your best friends. Not only will they attract Sizzlipede, but if enough Pokémon are caught using a single Lure Module, you'll see an increase in Pokémon appearances at PokéStops. It's a fantastic opportunity to maximize your catches and make the most out of your time.

As you dive into the event, you'll be thrilled to know that you'll earn double XP and extra Candy for Nice Throws or better, with enhanced chances of receiving Candy XL for trainers level 31 and above. If you're on the hunt for Shiny Pokémon, you're in luck—your odds of encountering Shiny Wurmple and Shiny Venipede will be higher than ever.

The wild will be buzzing with Bug-types, featuring frequent appearances from Pokémon like Caterpie, Weedle, Wurmple, Nincada, Venipede, Dwebble, Joltik, Grubbin, Dewpider, and Nymble. Keep your eyes peeled, as you might even stumble upon the elusive Cutiefly.

Sizzlipede will be making its mark in one-star raids, joining forces with Scyther and Nincada. Meanwhile, three-star raids will feature formidable opponents like Beedrill, Scizor, and Kleavor. Completing event-themed Field Research tasks will reward you with Mega Energy, Scatterbug Candy, and encounters with event Pokémon, adding even more excitement to your journey.

Don't miss out on the free Timed Research opportunity, which includes encounters with Shedinja, Sizzlipede, Kleavor, and more, along with a Lure Module. For those looking for extra rewards, a Paid Timed Research option is available for $2 or the local equivalent, offering encounters with Heracross, Sizzlipede, and Kleavor, plus two Premium Battle Passes and an additional Lure Module.

New Collection Challenges will reward you with Stardust, XP, and Pokémon encounters, while PokéStop Showcases will highlight event-themed Pokémon. And don't forget to check out the in-game shop for the new Sizzlipede Boots and a Scolipede Jacket to add some flair to your trainer's wardrobe.
