Summary

  • The Pokemon Company has acknowledged the shortages of the Scarlet and Violet — Prismatic Evolutions set and expressed gratitude to Pokemon TCG fans for their patience.

The Pokemon Company has publicly addressed the ongoing shortages of the Scarlet and Violet — Prismatic Evolutions set, marking the first time they've acknowledged the issue. They've expressed their appreciation for the patience of Pokemon TCG fans and detailed the steps being taken to mitigate the situation.

Announced in early November 2024, Prismatic Evolutions was set to launch internationally on January 17, 2025, with the aim of kickstarting the new year on a high note for the Pokemon TCG community. However, the expansion has faced widespread shortages globally, including in the United States, leading to frustration among fans.

In response to weeks of fan complaints on social media, The Pokemon Company released a statement acknowledging the difficulties in obtaining some of their upcoming products. "We understand this inconvenience can be disappointing for fans, and we are actively working to print more of the impacted Pokemon TCG products as quickly as possible and at maximum capacity to address this," a company spokesperson told IGN.

Pokemon TCG Prismatic Evolutions Reprints Are Coming Soon

Reprints of the Prismatic Evolutions set are currently being produced and are expected to reach licensed distributors soon, though no specific timeline was provided. While some have pointed fingers at scalpers, The Pokemon Company attributes the shortages to "high demand" without further elaboration.

These include a Mini Tin and Surprise Box, set for release on February 7, a Booster Bundle and Accessory Pouch Special Collection on March 7 and April 25, respectively, a Super-Premium Collection on May 16, and a Premium Figure Collection on September 26.
