The Pokémon Company has unveiled two new expansions for the Pokémon Trading Card Game, extending the Scarlet & Violet series. Named Scarlet & Violet: Black Bolt and Scarlet & Violet: White Flare, these collector sets will launch globally on July 18, 2025, at authorized retailers.
Both expansions highlight all 156 Pokémon first encountered in the Unova region. Each creature will receive either an illustration rare or special illustration rare treatment, with variant artworks distributed between Black Bolt and White Flare products.

Scarlet & Violet: Black Bolt spotlights the Legendary Zekrom, while White Flare showcases Reshiram. Both expansions introduce three premium foil variants, including exclusive designs featuring rainbow Poké Ball and Master Ball motifs.
The sets revive nostalgic elements from the Black & White era, including classic foil treatments and Basic Energy cards featuring original Black & White artwork.
Pokémon TCG: Black Bolt and White Flare Preorders
While preorders aren't yet available, industry rumors suggest they'll open around mid-May. This mirrors the announcement-to-preorder timeline seen with Destined Rivals, another 2025 Pokémon TCG release launching this month.
