Sony has announced price adjustments for PlayStation 5 consoles across Europe, Australia, and New Zealand, attributing the decision to current economic challenges such as rising inflation and currency fluctuations.
The revised pricing structure was officially detailed in a PlayStation Blog announcement.
Note: PS5 Pro pricing remains unaffected by these changes.
Following previous price adjustments in 2022, the PS5 now carries significantly higher retail prices compared to its initial launch figures.
In European and UK markets, the digital edition now costs €100/£70 more than launch prices (originally €400/£360). Australian consumers face an AUD $80 increase for the standard model (from AUD $750) and AUD $150 hike for the digital version (previously AUD $600). New Zealand sees the standard PS5 priced NZD $130 higher (was NZD $820), with the digital variant increasing by NZD $210 (from NZD $650).
Conversely, the standalone PS5 disc drive will see price reductions to €80/£70/AUD $125/NZD $140.
