Rockstar, the developers behind the iconic GTA series, have finally released an Anniversary Edition update for Bully on mobile devices. After a six-year wait, this update is exclusively available for mobile users, leaving console and PC gamers out of the loop.
Rockstar Hasn’t Forgotten about Bullworth Academy!
Bully: Anniversary Edition's latest update brings a host of new languages and focuses primarily on enhancing stability and fixing bugs. A notable change is the temporary disablement of Friends Challenges, but Rockstar has promised to address this in future updates.
For Android users with compatible devices, the update introduces Screen Space Ambient Occlusion (SSAO), enhancing the visual experience. Additionally, the app icon has been updated, and haptic feedback has been added to enrich the gameplay on both iOS and Android platforms.
Several mission-specific issues have been resolved, including the notorious 'That Bitch' mission, where players previously couldn't pick Mandy's locker, and 'Weed Killer,' which wouldn't progress if the window was broken prematurely. The update also fixes a glitch in 'The Rumble' where police cars would inexplicably fall through the floor.
Moreover, the update tackles gameplay anomalies such as enemies refusing to engage Jimmy in combat, leading to one-sided fights. It also addresses crashes that could occur when starting a new game or loading a save from the pause menu.
What Do Players Have to Say about Bully: Anniversary Edition?
The fanbase has been clamoring for Bully 2 for years, but it seems Rockstar has prioritized other projects. Rumors of a sequel in development during the 2010s were dashed when resources were redirected to Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA Online. With GTA 6 on the horizon, the chances of seeing Bully 2 diminish, especially with many of the original team members having moved on from Rockstar.
While not a full remaster or a sequel, the new update for Bully: Anniversary Edition offers mobile players a significant upgrade. If you're new to the series, Bully is Rockstar's unique take on a schoolyard sandbox game, where you step into the shoes of Jimmy Hopkins, a 15-year-old navigating the trials and tribulations of Bullworth Academy. It's infused with Rockstar's signature humor and open-world antics.
You can dive into Bully: Anniversary Edition on the Google Play Store for €7.99, which also supports full gamepad functionality.
