In *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, a crucial side quest involving Rosa's book is easily missed, leading to a failed quest and potentially missed romance opportunities. This guide ensures you don't miss out.
Unlocking Rosa's Book Side Quest
Before Rosa requests her book, complete "Via Argentum" and begin "Taking French Leave." After assisting the Ruthard family with Vavak (through force or diplomacy), speak with Rosa. She'll mention a secret Maleshov passage for rescuing Hans, then ask you to retrieve her book. Inquire about the book's specifics, and promise to find it to initiate "Rosa's Book." This quest is only available during "Taking French Leave." Leaving Maleshov without the book results in quest failure.

The book is conveniently located on your way to Hans. Upon entering Maleshov, Hans is in the tallest tower's top floor. Use the external stairs to enter. Inside, find another stairwell and a small kitchen. Wait in the kitchen until the guards upstairs leave.

Sneak upstairs to a room with Lady Ofka. Knock her out, take her keys, the keys from the podium, and the sword from the chest. Rosa's book is a red volume in a window alcove to the fireplace's right. Grab it; your objective updates to returning it to Rosa.

While there, take the sword from the chest in the adjacent room. This saves time later, as you'll need two weapons for Hans and his guest. Unlock the door on the tower's top level to trigger a cutscene.
Following the cutscene, continue "Taking French Leave." Persuade Hans to use the passage (choosing the heart dialogue option, if you chose it in Trosky). Sneak to the north stables, subduing guards. Signal Hans to ensure his safe arrival. Open the gate for a final cutscene. Return to Kuttenberg and deliver the book to Rosa at Ruthard Palace to complete the quest.
