Serenity Forge has recently released two new games for Android enthusiasts: Lisa: The Painful and Lisa: The Joyful, part of The Lisa Trilogy. If you're familiar with these titles from their PC versions, you're well aware of the intense emotional journey they offer.
It’s Painful and Joyful at the Same Time
For those new to the series or looking to revisit, here's an introduction. The Lisa Trilogy began with Lisa: The First in 2012, a retro-style exploration game that plunges you into the mind of Lisa Armstrong. You navigate a distorted, fading reality shaped by trauma, piecing together memories, encountering bizarre characters, and uncovering VHS tapes that reveal glimpses of the past. It's a surreal experience that subtly challenges your perceptions.
Following the initial release, Lisa: The Painful and Lisa: The Joyful hit PC platforms in 2014 and 2015, respectively. Now, these games have made their way to Android as Definitive Editions, following their updated PC versions from July 2023.
You Can Play The Lisa Trilogy on Android
Lisa: The Painful immerses you in the role of Brad Armstrong, who traverses the desolate wasteland of Olathe in search of his adopted daughter, Buddy. The game blends brutal misery with dark humor, and your decisions have lasting consequences, from losing limbs to sacrificing your team or taking hits for others.
In Lisa: The Joyful, the final chapter, you step into Buddy's shoes. The setting of Olathe is even grimmer post the catastrophic White Flash, which left the world devoid of women except for Buddy. She navigates this darker world, striving to survive and seek vengeance while concealing her identity. The choices you make continue to be agonizing and pivotal to your gameplay experience.
The Definitive Editions come packed with enhancements, including updated battle systems, six new Warlord skills, new border art, a music player, and a 'painless mode' for a less punishing experience.
If you're ready for a gaming experience that's grim, wild, and brilliantly crafted, dive into Lisa: The Painful and Lisa: The Joyful of The Lisa Trilogy on Android.
