The new year in Pokémon GO brings a wave of new Pokémon, and Shroodle is the latest addition! However, unlike many previous releases, catching this Toxic Mouse Pokémon isn't as simple as a wild encounter.
Shroodle's Pokémon GO Debut
Shroodle arrives in Pokémon GO on January 15, 2025, as part of the Fashion Week: Taken Over event. Originally from Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, this newcomer will remain available after the event concludes.
Shiny Shroodle?
At launch, a Shiny Shroodle is unavailable in Pokémon GO. Expect its Shiny variant to appear in a future event, possibly a Poison-type or Team GO Rocket themed one.
Catching Shroodle: Hatching from 12KM Eggs
Shroodle's acquisition deviates from the norm; it's exclusively obtainable by hatching 12KM Eggs. These eggs, collected from January 15th onwards, offer a chance to hatch Shroodle. While its hatching rate may be higher during the Fashion Week event, it will remain part of the 12KM egg pool afterward.
Acquiring 12KM Eggs
To obtain the elusive 12KM Eggs, you must defeat Team GO Rocket Leaders (Sierra, Arlo, Cliff) or Giovanni. The Fashion Week: Taken Over event is ideal for stocking up on these eggs due to the increased Team GO Rocket activity and readily available Rocket Radars. However, you can battle GO Rocket Grunts at any time to challenge the Leaders and earn a 12KM egg (provided you have inventory space).
Evolving Shroodle into Grafaiai
Grafaiai, Shroodle's evolution, also debuts on January 15th. Unlike Shroodle, it doesn't hatch from eggs or appear in the wild. Evolution is the sole method of obtaining Grafaiai, requiring 50 Shroodle Candy. Hatching multiple Shroodle or using one as your buddy Pokémon will help you accumulate the necessary Candy.
Pokémon GO is currently available.
