EA and Maxis are marking the 25th anniversary of The Sims franchise with an exciting re-release. Today, fans can once again enjoy The Sims 1 and The Sims 2 on PC, thanks to the introduction of The Sims: Legacy Collection and The Sims 2: Legacy Collection, as well as The Sims 25th Birthday Bundle. Priced at $40, the bundle combines both collections, offering a comprehensive experience for enthusiasts of the series.

Both The Sims: Legacy Collection and The Sims 2: Legacy Collection come packed with all expansions and nearly all stuff packs. Notably, The Sims 2: Legacy Collection misses out on the IKEA Home Stuff pack from 2008, but includes a Grunge Revival Kit alongside all other add-ons. Meanwhile, The Sims 1 features a unique Throwback Fit Kit, enhancing the nostalgic journey for players.

This re-release is a significant event, marking the first time in over a decade that both classic games have been readily available. The Sims 1, previously only accessible via physical discs, posed challenges for modern PC users. The Sims 2, though briefly available in 2014 as an Ultimate Collection on EA's Origin store, became unavailable after its removal. These new collections now make all four The Sims games easily accessible through digital platforms, eliminating the need for physical discs.

In our initial reviews, The Sims 1 scored an impressive 9.5/10, while The Sims 2 earned an 8.5/10. Despite the evolution of the series with new features and improvements, the original games remain cherished for their unique charm, simplicity, and the challenge they offer, making them essential for both new and veteran players.

You can now purchase The Sims: Legacy Collection and The Sims 2: Legacy Collection on Steam, the Epic Games Store, and through the EA app, celebrating the enduring legacy of The Sims franchise.
