While the worldwide release of *Sonic Rumble* is still a bit away, set for May 8th, the game is kicking things off with an exciting pre-release crossover event. And it's not just any crossover; it's a celebration of Sega's iconic characters from past and present, ready to join the rumble!
This unique event, happening before the global launch, will be accessible to those in regions where *Sonic Rumble* is currently in soft launch. From now until May 7th, players can claim the Werewolf character, inspired by the classic game *Altered Beast*, absolutely free.
For those who subscribe to the Sega Star Event Pass, there's even more to enjoy. You'll have the chance to unlock the Weredragon from *Altered Beast*, alongside Sega's original mascot, Opa-Opa from the beloved arcade game *Fantasy Zone*.
But the excitement doesn't stop there! Additional characters will be available for purchase in the in-game Ring Shop, including Upa-Upa and the Werebear. Meanwhile, the Red Star Ring Shop will offer characters from *Super Monkey Ball*, such as AiAi and MeeMee, adding even more variety to your roster.
It's certainly unusual to see such an event before a game's official release, but those fortunate enough to be part of the soft launch will no doubt be eager to get their hands on these legendary characters. And according to Sega, this is just the beginning of a packed calendar of crossovers and collaborations planned for *Sonic Rumble*.
