Netflix's track record with game adaptations of its original series has been mixed. While some, like the Stranger Things pixel-art adventure, have been successful, others haven't resonated as well. However, Squid Game: Unleashed, with its focus on action and violence, promises to be a different story.
This multiplayer battle royale pits players against friends and strangers in the iconic, deadly games from the show, albeit with a more lighthearted tone. Whether this approach is successful remains to be seen, but it clearly aims to capitalize on the original series' immense popularity.

CalamariThe irony of a show about the dehumanization of individuals and the exploitation of their deaths for entertainment being transformed into a multiplayer game is undeniable. However, from a purely objective standpoint, it's a logical move. Netflix appears to have recognized the potential of a dedicated multiplayer audience to retain subscribers, even if they aren't engaged with all of the streaming service's offerings.
