Ubisoft has officially confirmed that Star Wars: Outlaws will be making its way to the Nintendo Switch 2, though it won't be available as a launch title when the new Nintendo handheld hits the market on June 5. Instead, fans can expect to dive into this space adventure a few months later, on September 4.
For those who missed Star Wars: Outlaws on PS5, Xbox, and PC, the game is set between the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. It follows the journey of Kay Vess, a small-time criminal who finds herself targeted by a cartel. Our review scored it a 7, describing it as "a fun intergalactic heist adventure with great exploration, but it’s hindered by simple stealth, repetitive combat, and a few too many bugs at launch."
While Ubisoft kept details to a minimum, they did confirm the release date for Star Wars: Outlaws on the Nintendo Switch 2. This news is a welcome update to the Switch 2 Games List, especially amidst the pre-order uncertainty faced by American and Canadian gamers due to new tariffs introduced by the Republican administration.
The announcement came during a panel at Star Wars Celebration in Japan, where Ubisoft also unveiled details about the second story pack for Star Wars: Outlaws, titled A Pirate’s Fortune. In this add-on, Kay Vess teams up with Hondo Ohnaka to challenge Stinger Tash, the leader of the Rokana Raiders. Star Wars: Outlaws: A Pirate’s Fortune is slated for release on May 15.
