Take-Two has revealed the sales of GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2

Despite its age (released September 2013), GTA 5 continues to dominate sales charts, boasting 5 million units sold in the last three months alone. Its enduring popularity solidifies its place as one of history's best-selling games.

Red Dead Redemption 2 (October 2018 release) also shows impressive sales momentum, adding 3 million copies to its already substantial 70 million unit total in the recent quarter.

The enduring success of GTA 5 is significantly fueled by GTA Online, its consistently updated multiplayer component. Take-Two's commitment to ongoing content, exemplified by the December 2024 release of the "Agents of Sabotage" update, maintains player engagement.

Looking ahead, Take-Two has confirmed a Fall 2025 release for the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6. Further bolstering their upcoming lineup are Mafia: The Old Country (Summer 2025 release expected) and Borderlands 4 (later in 2025).

While concerns regarding potential delays for Grand Theft Auto VI are understandable, Take-Two's recent financial report reaffirmed its Fall 2025 release window. Similarly, Borderlands 4 is confirmed for a 2025 release, although specific dates remain unannounced.

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick acknowledged Rockstar's meticulous development process, suggesting that, as with previous titles like GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2, additional development time might be needed. This statement, however, didn't alter the projected Fall 2025 release for GTA 6.
