The Capcom Pro Tour is taking a much-needed break, and we now know the 48 participants who will be competing in Capcom Cup 11. While the focus is often on the top players from around the world, let's shift our attention to the characters they've chosen to represent them in the arena of Street Fighter 6.
Following the conclusion of the World Warrior circuit, EventHubs has released detailed statistics on the most popular Street Fighter 6 characters at the highest level of play. These stats provide a valuable insight into the current game balance. Remarkably, all 24 fighters in the game are being used, showcasing the diversity of the roster. However, out of nearly two hundred top players (with eight finalists from each of the 24 regions), only one player opted to main Ryu. Even the recently added Terry Bogard found favor with two players.
Currently, the most popular characters on the professional scene are Cammy, Ken, and M. Bison, each chosen by 17 players. There's a noticeable drop-off after these top three, with the next tier featuring Akuma (12 players), Ed and Luke (both 11 players), and JP and Chun-Li (both with 10 players). Among the less popular characters, Zangief, Guile, and Juri each managed to be the main pick for seven players.
Mark your calendars for March, as Capcom Cup 11 is set to take place in Tokyo. The stakes are high, with a whopping million dollars on the line for the tournament's victor.
