The Last Knight is a relatively straightforward side quest, unlocked after completing Chapter 2 of the main storyline ("What Yesterday Wept, Today Doth Sing"). It's recommended to finish Chapter 2, Act 3 before exploring Rinascita, as many side quests are locked until then.
Starting the Quest
Locate Cosimo in Egla Town, Whisperwind Haven. He's near the first house by the main road, marked by a blue quest marker on your map.
The Night Reveries
This involves participating in a performance commemorating a legendary knight. You must defeat the Mad Knight, who only appears at night (18:00 to 06:00). Find him at the town's central pool. The Mad Knight isn't particularly challenging; use your strongest attacks.
Mimic Chests Challenge
After defeating the Mad Knight, travel to the highest tower and fly to Carlow's location (marked on your map). He'll be unconscious near a large purple flower. Interact with the flower to be transported to a different instance where you must identify the real chest among mimics.
The first three chests are genuine. In the next set, only the second chest (middle-left) is real. Open it for Astrites and other rewards. Be prepared to fight the mimic chests after opening the correct one.
Following the Knight's Trail
Next, visit the second and third locations the Mad Knight supposedly visited (follow quest markers and speak to NPCs).
After speaking with Mr. Millkeeper, Abby will mention a strange smell. Follow the marker uphill to encounter a unique Chop Chop with invulnerable Leftless and Rightless. Using a Questless Knight Echo in your main Echo slot is recommended to parry and stun its attacks. Defeating it reveals the truth about the "legendary knight."
Finding Carlow
Return to Egla Town during the day and find Carlow in a town plaza. He'll be facing ridicule from two knights. His reaction and subsequent challenge conclude the quest. You'll receive Union XP, Astrites, and resources as rewards.
