World of Warcraft Delays Plunderstorm Launch

WoW's Plunderstorm Event Delayed Due to Unexpected Issues

The highly anticipated return of World of Warcraft's Plunderstorm event has been postponed due to unforeseen technical difficulties. While Blizzard initially aimed for a launch before the end of January 14th, 2025, no new release time has been announced.

Plunderstorm, a popular pirate-themed battle royale mode introduced in 2024's Dragonflight expansion, was slated to return with both original and new rewards. However, unexpected issues arose during the planned server maintenance, resulting in a delay beyond the extended eight-hour downtime.

When will Plunderstorm be available?

Currently, Blizzard has only stated that the event will launch before the end of January 14th, 2025, once the unforeseen issues are resolved. A specific timeframe remains unavailable.

What can players do while waiting?

In the meantime, World of Warcraft's regular servers are operational. Players can engage in various activities, including completing Siren Isle weeklies, participating in the Turbulent Timeways event, or pursuing other content within the game.

The delayed launch may be related to new features added for this iteration of Plunderstorm, such as the Plunderstore and an in-game event interface.

Twitch Drops Still Active:

Despite the delay, the Plunderstorm Twitch Drops campaign remains active. Viewers can earn the Coward's Azure Target transmog by watching four hours of any World of Warcraft Twitch stream before February 4th at 10 AM PST. The streamer doesn't need to be playing Plunderstorm for viewers to qualify.
