Hot off the heels of Dynasty Warriors: Origins, Koei Tecmo has released another thrilling addition to the musou genre with Warriors: Abyss, a new roguelite that brings back beloved characters from the Warriors series. Launched today, this game offers a fresh take on the genre with an exciting twist.

Revealed during today's PlayStation State of Play, Warriors: Abyss allows players to assemble a squad of iconic characters and battle through endless waves of enemies. The game features an isometric camera angle, drawing inspiration from titles like Diablo and the Greek mythology-based roguelite, Hades. Players will navigate their team through the depths of "hell," confronting demonic foes along the way. The game's footage showcased familiar faces such as Zhou Yu, Nobunaga Oda, and Sunshang Xiang.

According to the PlayStation Blog, characters can be recruited and added to your team over time, enhancing your arsenal with additional summoning actions. Players can engage in battles with up to seven active heroes, and at launch, a pool of 100 warriors will be available.

Koei Tecmo has plans to expand the roster with new characters, starting with some from the Jin kingdom in Dynasty Warriors. The developer hinted at more additions post-launch, suggesting that "there might even be characters outside of the Warriors series" joining the fray in the future.

Warriors: Abyss is now available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. It will also be released on Nintendo Switch on February 13, 2025. For those interested in the in-game Dynasty Warriors Costume Set, it's available until March 14, 2025.
