Yangon Galacticos Win PUBG Mobile's 2025 Regional Clash

by Joshua May 07,2025

The PMRC Rondo Cup 2025 concluded this past weekend, marking a thrilling end to the latest PUBG Mobile esports tournament. Team Yangon Galacticos emerged as the champions, securing the victory and the lion's share of the impressive $20,000 prize pool provided by PUBG.

The tournament unfolded on PUBG's newest and largest map to date, Rondo. This expansive battleground hosted 16 teams that earned their spots through various qualifiers, including D'Xavier at PMSL SEA Spring, Rangers at PMCL Spring, and R3GICIDE at PMSL CSA Fall.

Yangon Galacticos clinched the title under the newly introduced SMASH format rules. According to this ruleset, a team needed to accumulate over 30 points and secure a victory in a separate match to claim the championship. However, no team managed to meet these criteria after six matches, leading to Yangon Galacticos' victory due to their commanding points lead.

Arondo the world

HORAA Esports and Bigetron Esports secured second and third places, respectively, underscoring the Rondo Cup's success and highlighting PUBG Mobile's burgeoning esports ambitions that have been gaining momentum since 2024.

Interestingly, the inaugural tournament to feature the SMASH rule did not see any team win through this new system, raising questions about its future in PUBG Mobile esports. Whether the SMASH format will return depends on the organizers' assessment of its potential to foster more skilled and engaging gameplay in upcoming events.
