Jack Quaid, known for his role in "The Boys," expressed his enthusiasm for the possibility of starring in a BioShock movie during a Reddit AMA promoting his new film, "Novocaine." Quaid, a self-proclaimed video game enthusiast, highlighted BioShock as one of his all-time favorite games, praising its "rich lore" as ripe for adaptation into a TV series or film.
"I would actually love to be in a live-action adaptation of BioShock - one of my favorite games of all time," Quaid stated. "I think there's such a rich lore to that game that could be explored in a TV or movie adaptation."
Despite Quaid's interest, the future of the BioShock movie remains uncertain. Producer Roy Lee mentioned last July that the project had undergone a "reconfiguration" due to leadership changes and budget adjustments by Netflix. This shift aims to create a "more personal" film, diverging from the initially grander vision. Hunger Games director Francis Lawrence is still attached to direct the project, but plot details remain under wraps.
Quaid's resemblance to the video game character Max Payne has also caught fans' attention, especially with scenes from "Novocaine" that echo the style of the Max Payne series. Quaid acknowledged the similarity, noting, "I've seen people say that I look like Max Payne, and when I've looked at the box art, even I did a double-take. I love Rockstar's games, but unfortunately I've never played that one - it's next on the list, for sure."
Beyond BioShock, Quaid's gaming interests extend to FromSoftware's challenging titles. In the same AMA, he shared his passion for games like Bloodborne, Sekiro, and Elden Ring, admitting to using Reddit frequently for tips and tricks to conquer the notoriously tough bosses these games are known for. "I'm a huge video game nerd," he said. "And lately I've been diving headfirst into the FromSoftware library. I beat Bloodborne, then I beat Sekiro, and now I'm going full boar into Elden Ring."
