Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 receives classic game modes and map updates this week, alongside a patch addressing post-launch issues.
Infection and Nuketown Arrive
Treyarch, the developer behind Black Ops 6, has confirmed the arrival of the popular "Infected" mode and the iconic Nuketown map. Infected, a fan-favorite party mode, launches tomorrow, pitting players against AI-controlled zombies. Nuketown, the classic map inspired by 1950s nuclear test sites, will be available starting November 1st. Activision previously announced plans for regular post-launch content additions, ensuring a steady stream of new modes and maps. Black Ops 6 launched with 11 standard multiplayer modes, including variations with disabled Scorestreaks and a Hardcore mode.
Patch 1 Addresses Post-Launch Bugs
A recent update tackled various issues across multiplayer and Zombies modes. Team Deathmatch, Control, Search & Destroy, and Gunfight received XP and weapon XP boosts. Activision stated they are continuously monitoring XP rates to ensure fair progression. Resolved issues include:
- Global: Fixed loadout highlighting, Bailey's animation in the Operators menu, and the "Mute Licensed Music" setting.
- Maps: Closed exploits allowing players to leave the intended play areas on Babylon, Lowtown, and Red Card. Improved stability on Red Card and addressed general in-game interaction stability issues.
- Multiplayer: Fixed matchmaking issues preventing quick player replacements, prevented private match forfeits with zero players on a team, and addressed a continuous missile sound effect from the Dreadnought.
While some issues remain—such as dying on loadout selection in Search & Destroy—developers Treyarch and Raven Software are actively working on further patches. Despite these early hiccups, Black Ops 6 is widely considered a top-tier Call of Duty title, particularly praising its enjoyable campaign. For a complete review, see the link below!
