Codenames: The Popular Spy Game, Now on Mobile!
If you enjoy word games, you've likely encountered Codenames. This acclaimed board game of spies and secret agents is now available as a mobile app, published by CGE Digital (the original board game was created by Vlaada Chvátil).
What is Codenames?
Codenames is a multiplayer game where two teams compete, deciphering secret agent identities hidden behind code names. Your team's spymaster provides one-word clues, and you must correctly identify your agents while avoiding bystanders and, crucially, the assassin. Strategic deduction and word association are key to victory.
The digital version offers fresh words, game modes, and unlockable achievements, incorporating a career mode with leveling, rewards, and special gadgets. The asynchronous multiplayer allows up to 24 hours per turn, enabling simultaneous play across multiple games, challenges against global opponents, and daily solo puzzles.

Still a Guessing Game, But More!
Gameplay involves tapping on-screen cards to reveal your agents. Correct guesses reveal identities; selecting the assassin results in an immediate loss. Managing multiple games adds a layer of complexity, but that's part of the fun! As you progress, you'll also take on the role of spymaster, crafting the crucial one-word clues.
Think you have what it takes to master word association and prove your superior spy skills? Download Codenames from the Google Play Store for $4.99.
