How To Play Hyper Light Breaker With Friends
To enjoy Hyper Light Breaker in co-op mode with your friends, you'll need to create a Private multiplayer room. Start by spawning into the Cursed Outpost, the central hub of Hyper Light Breaker, where you'll find your commander, Pherus Bit, standing just opposite the doorway leading into the Outpost. Head to the counter to the left of Pherus Bit.
Interact with the counter using the Interact button (usually R1 or RB) to access the Multiplayer menu. Here, you can create your own Breaker Team, join an existing one, or check your Invitations. To play with friends, select "Create Breaker Team".
In the subsequent menu, enable "Password Required" and enter a password of your choice. After setting up your private Breaker Team, invite up to two friends via your platform's social service, be it PSN, Xbox, or Steam. The game supports groups of up to three players.
If your friend is already in-game, they'll receive the invitation in the "Invitations" tab of the Multiplayer menu. Otherwise, they can join your session using the invitation link sent to them.
Your team might also appear in the general list of Breaker Teams with available slots under "Join Breaker Team". If other methods fail, your friend can search through this list to join your Private group directly.
Once your friend accepts the invite and enters the password, you're all set to embark on thrilling co-op runs in Hyper Light Breaker.
Random Online Matchmaking In Hyper Light Breaker
If you're looking to play multiplayer but don't have friends who own Hyper Light Breaker, you can still enjoy the game with others through public groups. You can either create a public group without a password or join an existing one using the game's matchmaking system.
Navigate to the multiplayer menu in the Cursed Outpost and select "Join Breaker Team". Scroll to the bottom of the screen and choose "Join Random Public Breaker Team".
The system will automatically search for available public, non-password-protected Breaker Teams and assign you to one. After a brief loading screen, you'll find yourself in the world of the team's creator.
To leave a multiplayer session, return to the counter in the Cursed Outpost and open the multiplayer menu. If you're currently in a session, you'll see an option to disconnect at the bottom of the list. Selecting this will return you to your own world. Alternatively, you can simply quit the game to end the session.
