Pocket Gamer recently discovered Dynabytes' Fantasma at Gamescom Latam – a multiplayer augmented reality (AR) GPS adventure game. This exciting title recently received a language update, now supporting Japanese, Korean, Malay, and Portuguese. German, Italian, and Spanish language support is planned for release in the coming months.
But what exactly is Fantasma? Players hunt and battle mischievous creatures by strategically deploying portable electromagnetic fields (think bait, but way cooler!). Combat takes place in augmented reality, requiring players to maneuver their phones to keep the Fantasmas in view while tapping the screen to fire projectiles. Defeated Fantasmas are then captured in special bottles.
The location-based gameplay encourages exploration, as Fantasmas appear based on your real-world location. Players can expand their search radius using deployable sensors. Team up with friends for a more collaborative experience!
Fantasma is free-to-play (with in-app purchases) and available now on the App Store and Google Play. Download it today! Looking for more AR games? Check out our list of the best AR games for iOS.
