Are you excited about the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2? Well, hold onto your joy-cons because the pricing details are in, and they vary between Japan and the rest of the world. Let's dive into what you need to know about the pricing and versions of the Switch 2.
Switch 2 Japan Price Lower Than Global Version
Nintendo Switch 2 is set to launch with a different price tag in Japan compared to the global market. The innovative gaming console will come in two distinct versions: a Japanese-language system, available exclusively in Japan, and a Multi-Language System for the worldwide market. In Japan, you can grab the Japanese-language version for around $330, which is a steal compared to the Multi-Language System's global price of $449.99. That's over a $100 difference! The reason? The yen's current weakness against the USD makes it less appealing for tourists to buy electronics in Japan.
If you're living in Japan and prefer a broader language support, don't worry—you can still purchase the Multi-Language System version. However, the Japanese-language system will be an exclusive offering for those with a Nintendo Account set to Japan. It will only support Japanese language and software available on the Japanese Nintendo eShop.
For fans outside of Japan or those who want to enjoy the Switch 2 in multiple languages, Nintendo recommends opting for the Multi-Language System version. Stay tuned, as more details about this version will be unveiled on April 4.
