It's worth noting that while *Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2* is available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, the public test server is exclusively accessible on PC. If you're a PC player, you can easily join the public test server via Steam without any complicated steps.

Simply navigate to *Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2* in your Steam library, and you'll find the public test server listed right below the main game as a separate entry. Remember, this option is only visible if you've already purchased *Space Marine 2* on Steam. Once located, you'll need to download and install the test server, which operates independently from the main game.

The *Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2* public test server offers new content for both PvE and PvP modes, including new weapons and expanded customization options for players to explore. The bulk of the updates are centered around PvE, featuring a new map, more flexible class weapon restrictions, and adjustments to online gameplay features. Keep in mind that the content, especially the PvE additions, is still in development and subject to change before its official release.

In terms of online gameplay, the test server introduces enhanced matchmaking for both PvE and PvP, focusing on better team balancing. The PvE matchmaking system aims to minimize the occurrence of players choosing the same class ending up on the same team and includes a unique prestige leveling system. Meanwhile, the PvP mode boasts expanded lobby customization options to enrich the multiplayer experience.

If you have mods installed for *Space Marine 2*, be aware that they won't work in the public test server. Additionally, any content you create or customize using the available assets on the test server won't carry over to the main game, as the test server is a separate build. There's no official confirmation yet on whether progress or content from the test server will transfer to the main game, but it's not anticipated.
