Obsidian's Multi-Title Development Update
Obsidian Entertainment is making steady progress on both The Outer Worlds 2 and Avowed, according to Urquhart. He acknowledged past challenges, including the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the studio's acquisition by Microsoft, which led to a period of intense pressure across multiple projects (Grounded, Pentiment). While there were discussions about potentially halting The Outer Worlds 2 development to focus resources on Avowed, Obsidian ultimately chose to continue development on all titles.
Urquhart reflected on the success of Grounded and Pentiment, and the promising progress on Avowed. He described The Outer Worlds 2 as "looking incredible," although specific details about the game's content remain undisclosed. With Avowed's release pushed to 2025, it's plausible that similar timeline adjustments may affect other Obsidian projects.
