"The Last of Us Season 2 Adds Six to Cast Before April Premiere"

by Patrick Apr 21,2025

HBO's The Last of Us Season 2 is set to premiere this April, and the cast is expanding with six new actors joining the show. According to Variety, the new additions to the cast are Joe Pantoliano (known for Memento and The Matrix), Alanna Ubach (Euphoria, Bombshell), Ben Ahlers (The Gilded Age, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Hettienne Park (Don't Look Up), Robert John Burke (RoboCop 3), and Noah Lamanna (Star Trek: Strange New Worlds).

These actors will bring to life both characters from the original The Last of Us Part II game and new characters created for the series. Joe Pantoliano will portray Eugene, a character who was originally a minor figure in the game but will receive more screen time in the series. Eugene, known as Ellie and Dina's pot-smoking friend, will have his background explored more deeply, similar to how Bill's story was expanded in Season 1. Showrunners Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann told Variety that Eugene's expanded role will delve into the heart of Joel and Ellie's relationship.

Robert John Burke will play Seth, a bar owner and bigot from the game, while Noah Lamanna will portray Kat, Ellie's former girlfriend. Alanna Ubach, Ben Ahlers, and Hettienne Park will play new characters named Hanrahan, Burton, and Elise Park, respectively.

These new cast members join the already announced actors for Season 2, including Pedro Pascal as Joel, Bella Ramsey as Ellie, Isabela Merced as Dina, Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, and Gabriel Luna as Tommy. The showrunners have hinted that the story of The Last of Us Part II will be spread across multiple seasons, promising more surprises as the episodes unfold.

The Last of Us Season 2, which adapts the events of The Last of Us Part II, is set to premiere on April 13.
