Swing Into ‘Marvel Snap’ With The Amazing Spider-Season

by Bella Apr 09,2025

With August now behind us, and the Young Avengers season in the rearview mirror, it's time to dive into the next thrilling chapter of *Marvel Snap* (Free). The new season has officially launched, and it's themed around one of the most iconic Marvel heroes: Spider-Man! Welcome to the Amazing Spider-Season! While we won't be seeing Bonesaw this time around, the season is packed with exciting new cards and locations that are sure to keep you on the edge of your seat.

This season introduces a groundbreaking new card ability: Activate. Unlike traditional On Reveal abilities, Activate allows you to choose the perfect moment to trigger a card's effect, offering strategic depth and flexibility. The Season Pass card, Symbiote Spider-Man, is a prime example of this new mechanic. As a 4-Cost 6-Power card, Symbiote Spider-Man can absorb the lowest-cost card at his location and copy its text, including any On Reveal abilities, which will trigger again as if the card was just played. Pair him with Galactus for some truly wild combinations. While I predict this card might see a nerf before the season ends, it's undeniably fun to play with right now.

Let's take a closer look at the other new cards. Silver Sable, a 1-Cost 1-Power card, has an On Reveal ability that steals two power from the top card of your opponent's deck. She's a solid standalone card and becomes even more potent in specific deck combinations. Next up is Madame Web, the star of her own film, with an Ongoing ability that lets you move another card at her location once per turn, adding a dynamic element to your strategy.

Arana, another 1-Cost 1-Power card, also features the new Activate ability. When activated, she moves the next card you play to the right and boosts it with +2 Power, making her a must-have for move decks. Finally, we have Scarlet Spider (Ben Reilly), a 4-Cost 5-Power card with an Activate ability that spawns an exact clone at another location. Power him up and watch him multiply!

The new season also introduces two intriguing locations. The Brooklyn Bridge, a staple in Spider-Man lore, challenges you to avoid playing cards there two turns in a row, requiring creative strategies to dominate. Otto's Lab, inspired by the villainous Otto Octavius, pulls a card from your opponent's hand to the location when you play a card there, adding an element of surprise to your gameplay.

This season of *Marvel Snap* promises to be one of the most exciting yet, with the new Activate ability opening up a world of strategic possibilities. Our September deck guide will be available soon to help you navigate this web-slinging adventure. What are your thoughts on the new season? Which cards are you most excited to play?
